IKEA Singapore’s Young Designer Award was launched in 2014 for students in tertiary institutions to showcase their design ideas to create a better life at home.
Over the years, the competition evolved and young student talents in Singapore were challenged to inspire change behaviour to help address issues regarding climate change and its impact.
This year, IKEA Thailand will host this competition for the first time. We welcome students in Thailand to take up the challenge, and use the power of design to find solutions that will inspire change.

From good to great
Top 15 teams with the best ideas will participate in a Design Thinking Masterclass, conducted by Reactor Singapore. It is a session to help fine-tune your idea as you embark on creating a model prototype, or visual illustration for the final pitch and exhibition.
It will be an enlightening and empowering experience for finalists to accelerate their thought process with an entrepreneurial edge.
